Dermatologic effects often appear within 3–12 months, are usually mild, and rarely require stopping therapy. However, they can impact patient comfort, adherence, and overall satisfaction with #TRT.

Topical gels may cause local irritation or transdermal transfer. Patches often irritate skin. Short-acting injectables can cause injection-site reactions & elevated hematocrit, while long-acting injectables may trigger acne & fatigue.

Common skin effects of #TRT include acne (0.6–10%), oily skin, rashes (up to 5%), pruritus (up to 10%), and abnormal hair growth (~5%). Injectable forms generally show higher rates than topical or oral therapies.
