2/2 But some moments require calves to be more on guard, especially when those pesky larger males are around! For some like this calf here, swiftly moving further away with mom can solve that problem so they can return to addressing what’s most bothersome - those pesky itches!.

1/2 Nightlife at #DzangaBai can be interesting for a young #forestelephant calf. Some moments may be calmer, allowing #elephant calves to bask in the good feelings of using mom as a scratching post or as a body to lean on when peacefully falling into sleepier moments.
