New exploration and new work in progress... ⁣

I want more than just technique and beauty. I want to create a dialogue with the material - which I build up over many many hours of physically working with it. I want to intensify our wonder of nature and its complexity, find the essence of the material - reach the soul of it.

This group exhibition curated by Daniel Malarkey will be situated in @lhotel Paris - the last home of Oscar Wilde. Opens 18-22 Oct I've created new works using burr from trees felled by Reading Gaol, growing when Wilde was incarcerated & wrote 'De Profundis'

This Saturday 23 September @MyerscoughArt will host the symposium 'Making It : The Landscape of Craft, Art and Design Today' for @L_D_F I'll be part of a discussion chaired by craft curator and critic, Corinne Julius.

On show with @1831artgallery at @moderneartfair in Paris from 19-22 October, during the "week of contemporary art", 1831 is collaborating with New York’s Rosenberg & Co. The scenography will be structured around a double visual and thematic thread.

Our relative experience of time doesn’t follow a singular rhythmic pattern. ‘Time’ itself feels etched on species of wood such as Sequoia - where wood grows at a different density during different times of the year.

I first turn Column Vessels in sections on the lathe. They are jointed and then I sculpt using the shapes and voids in the wood to bring the piece together as one form. COLLECTIONS @MyerscoughArt 23 June - 21 October
