Ever wondered what happens to a male #insect when it is infected by an obligate killing pathogenic #fungus? Well have a look at this paper from my PhD! Also, if you haven't wondered about it, have a read too! @KU_PLEN @LSI_Exeter @insectdoctors
The fungus Entomophthora muscae is famous for turning infected flies into zombies. But how does the infection affect fly behaviour before the fungus take over and express it's mind-controlling traits? @samedwards410 asked this question in his PhD...

Ever wondered whether sexual selection leads to condition-dependence or if it's the other way around? Check out our new paper where we tested one of those directions...
Our new study: Sexually-selected traits tend to be more condition-dependent. *But* is this relationship causal? We manipulated sexual selection to test how condition-dependence evolves in flies OpenAccess https://t.co/cCo1uK1IQF

Evolution, fungi and zombie-flies, what more do you want! Feel free to check out our preprint!
New review preprint, focusing on the evolutionary ecology of the behaviourally manipulating insect-pathogenic fungus Entomophthora muscae, great collaboration with @zombieflied and @samedwards410

Very proud of Ellen, my very first co-supervised PhD student, who passed her viva yesterday with flying colours! Very well-deserved!
For the last 5 years I've been semi-convinced that my work isn't PhD standard and I'm at risk of being found out- what a relief that it is now TOO LATE for that as I have passed my viva π₯³

Early in the spring we were blessed with a little visitor who liked to take snoozes in the sun on the roof outside our window, and NOW there is a whole gang of playful cubs (4 in total).π¦β€ @EleanorBath1

Thank you to the students who nominated me - it's been such a pleasure teaching them! Also, I couldn't have done any of it without Martin - such a legend!
So great to see two members of Biology, @EleanorBath1 and Martin Hurajt, recognised for their innovation and hard work delivering and supporting our MBiol students!

Great day @morethanadodo with the first year biologists learning about the different insect orders and checking out the amazing collections! And what were the chances of @Jonathan_PGreen and I wearing the same themed shirt? @OxfordBiology
