Told folks on WhatsApp months ago that the GBH wounding that Deepseek was gonna deliver by end of Q1 was doing press up in the gym while US/EU teams were shouting about the initial open source release. The bigly funded LLMs should press charges, tbh. This is full on assault.

Always enjoyed @chrisfralic's shares of random incoming completely nonpersonalized pitch solicitations. But I had no idea I would ever receive one as wild as this. Like, slash?

Dan doing the work req'd to form & express an opinion. When I told folks it was necessary to adjust vesting timelines b/c contexts had changed, I was called 'founder unfriendly.' Now hearing of absolutely nasty co-founder fights that this woulda solved. No wahala. Time tells.
The 4 year vesting standard for founders is a product of the 1980s and 90s. The Tax Reform Act of 1986 mandated a 5-7 year maximum (depending on implementation) on vesting schedules. Then, in the 90s and early 2000s, the median time to IPO fell to around 4-5 years. Startups,

Automation shock. Africa where art thou? âChina exploited its comparative advantage over recent decades in having an abundant labour forceâ& became the dominant manufacturer globally of labour intensive goods. That game is now up.â - Frederic Neumann, chief Asia economist, HSBC.

âYet the [scam] industry persists because its money-laundering operation is so efficient. The system is so hydra-headed that when governments strike it in one place, it pops up in another. Location affects the price, too. Launderers charge up to 60% to clean money in China.â

American women are giving up on marriage. Divergence of future expectations increasingly matching divergence of education, income & political views. Men seem less interested in compromise & more interested in increasingly outdated traditional views of #marriage, econ be damned.

Every now & then I think about the teacher who said young Einstein was such a dullard that his brain was just a blob of white fat. And a @NobelPrize winner who ranked 250th in a class of 250. As often said, your morning is when you wake up. Set your â°ď¸. https://t.co/LAvifvrO6o

Good @VVFriedman read on the [less chess more hunger?] games mentality that seems to infuse changes in the creative suites at high profile fashion houses. If so, designers will soon need [pro sports] agents. Anyway, Proenza Schouler's cofounding team will be a good fit at Loewe.

"properly discipline" lifting a lotta weight here. Historical approaches to parental discipline & imposition of conseq a la corporal punishment are no longer generally acceptable. Has flogging been shown to positively course correct? Should the state issue đ¨âđŠâđ§âđŚspanking credits?
Isnât it unfortunate that parents in England have been stripped of the ability to properly discipline their children, yet the same system that limits parental authority will not hesitate to impose severe legal consequences when these children (grow up and) break the law?

'Some 32% of the 4,000 British consumers surveyed by Barclays last year said that they were buying dupes due to the rising cost of living, with #fragrances being the most sought-after items.' âPerfume is [like food or recipes because it's] not straightforward to protect.â
