I call it “support group” art because there’s no connection to an actual time lived, experienced, or known by the participants. Rather, there are just collections of ppl who wished they were there… so they spend weekends with their buds cosplaying their heroes.

Big fact. I’ve stepped away from music and have gone on creative output droughts for this reason alone. There’s absolutely nothing more beneficial to an artist’s success nowadays than a quality gimmick outside of music 💯.
This might be a little bold but I'm speaking just from the optics of it. I think content creation is more important than the music a young artist puts out nowadays. I'm a firm believer it should always be about the music but that's simply not how you get discovered anymore😔.

I consider myself a content creator because 9 times out of 10, I create media (as opposed to flat out reposting another person’s content) when I want to convey any feelings, news, or epiphanies I may have.
