As usual, it was feast or famine when it came to rainfall. Hartsville saw less than 0.1", while Tabor City recorded over 5.5". A wide swath of heavy rain stretched from Longs and Loris up through Tabor City and Lumberton.

24 YEARS AGO TODAY! . The iconic image of the F2 tornado that moved along the beach in Myrtle Beach on this date in 2001. My weather office was at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion at the time and it went right over me. This tornado had winds estimated at 150 mph. 36 people were injured.
