Osteoderms occur in virtually all major vertebrate clades. Much has been speculated about their function, but many questions remain unanswered. Check out or review for the current state of knowledge and future research directions in this field:

I am proud and honoured that my research made it to the cover of the Journal of Zoology! What you see is a beaded lizard, visualised by means of micro-computed tomography. Highlighted in Magenta are its "skin bones" or osteoderms.

Today, my thoughts are with my friend and fellow PhD student Salma. Sadly, her daughter Rifaya lost her battle with dengue fever yesterday. Please help her to cover ICU and funeral costs with a donation.

Dear all, this week is the last chance to sponsor our cycling team, the RSB Cyclodomorphs. We cycle 3000km at the Starlight Tour de Kids. Every dollar donated helps to put a smile into the face of a severely sick child. Thank you for helping!
