*mons ⬆️ So yeah finally experienced a tournament ruining moment. It hurts, while I don’t think I was winning the event things would’ve turned out very differently had I won 🤷‍♂️sharing so that hopefully it doesn’t happen to someone else in the future. Still trying for worlds 💪

So I eventually gave up, and wasn’t willing to go full scorched earth on the judges until I maybe got my way. Which would be imo a G1 forfeit from them, and they can change the mind to be correct. Sounds extremely fair to me. Final post ⬇️

My biggest issue is that.. the only thing I can do in this position is “escalate further, continuously arguing with the judges, and telling them they’re wrong. I talked to 3 different judges and did not get what I would call the “fair” ruling. I am not a confrontational person

Back in my day your mon was taken out back for the entire tournament if you spelled “Psychic Surrge” wrong. Jokes aside my opponent was very apologetic, but they’re of course going to take the effective non punishment the judge is serving them like any competitor would lol

Losing G3 aside obviously, I don’t think this is the right call at all. Adaptability (looking at the calcs) at the very least DID effect the game in some way 100%. And I’d argue won them the game since uhh, I guaranteed don’t die to that hit regularly lol. But the game counted /?

Of their Incin being completely the wrong set, which didn’t come into play G1 by them not clicking the incorrect moves, but got to change that as well. Yes, I escalated to a higher judge, and yes they said the exact same thing. So we played G3, I lose to a Draco meteor miss lol

I only was KNEW it was adaptability, when game 2 in rain, my Hydreigon outsped the Basc on turn 1. The ruling was effectively this: Game 1 COUNTS. They forfeit game 2. They get to change everything to be correct mid set before game 3. They also had another error /?

So can’t help but think what if. Short is, im against rain, CB swift swim basc KO’d my Tera 💧Gholdengo with 100 BP Last Respects from 94% when I have bulk. I was dumbfounded, but said “well, guess the fish is just that broken and it was a high roll” It was adaptability lol

I first wanna say my round 1 opponent was a great player, and ended up doing super well at the tournament so 100% no flame to them, they deserved their placement But every round of a tournament, especially round 1, can change the trajectory of the entire tournament.. 2/?

So I didn’t really mention it during the weekend but did poorly at Vegas, 4-4. For my first regional back in a while I guess it’s “ok” but I can’t help but have slightly higher goals in mind. I did unfortunately have my first nightmare tournament/judge ruling in round 1.. 🧵/?
