SK will continue playing softball at Hardin Simmons University where she is going to study nursing. Her favorite thing to do is to go to the Frio River with her family. The best thing about AHS softball is that the team is like a big family.

Our own Jaiden Franklin was named the winner of the Bev Ball award, which recognizes the most outstanding female athlete at AHS. This couldn’t have been awarded to a better girl. We will miss having her cover a ridiculous amount of ground for us next year, but we are so proud!

We are so proud of these girls for signing to play softball at Hardin-Simmons University! HSU is getting true gems. Sydnee and Kaylen are both some of the best in the state at what they do, and both have had remarkable careers here at Abilene High. We will sure miss them!

Texas coach Mike White said freshman Alyssa Washington will be his shortstop when the season opens on Thursday. Washington is only 5-5, but White said she may have the most pound-for-pound power on the roster. Vets McKenzie Parker and Lauren Burke will back Washington up.
