Building on the EU-DRC strategic partnership, we welcome the new STL & Umicore deal on germanium offtake and processing. 🤝
This will boost global germanium supply used in semiconductors, optical cables & solar cells, strengthening supply chains to US, EU & Japan.
@EU_Growth
Umicore and STL (Societé pour le Traitement du Terril de Lubumbashi) , subsidiary of Gécamines, have signed an exclusive, long-term partnership agreement whereby Umicore will support STL to valorize germanium from the Big Hill tailings site in Lubumbashi:
