We'll be taking a ride on the temperature roller coaster to end the year. Unseasonably warm temperatures continue through Sunday, but a cold front passage on Monday will bring highs only in the 30s for Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to trend near 20 degrees above normal by Christmas Day this coming week. Near record highs are possible on the 25th. In other words, we can say with the utmost confidence, that there won't be a white Christmas for us this year.

Finally out of the cold pattern, we will have a warm Thursday this week, with scattered showers around during the day, and a line of showers with a chance for breezy winds Thursday night. Mountains will see strong gusty winds during the day.

The return of warm weather will present the next bout of wind and rain on Thursday. Mountains and wind prone locations just west of the mountains are increasingly likely to see gusts greater than 40 mph Thursday evening and night.
