With the number of fire outbreaks in Nigeria and the relentless show of incompetence by the Nigerian fire service, one will think that by now every home, school, workplace and shops must have acquired fire extinguishers and installed fire doors to help mitigate these occurrences

@emilykmay Unfortunately the conversation gets derailed at that point. People think when wives/mothers say this that they mean women should be paid for it. In reality it means that it should looked at as work that adds value to an organization (family) and should be done in good conditions

Narcissists need to pretend youโre a bad person to validate the hatred they feel for envying you, so they donโt look guilty for the way they treated you.

Some people make it their absolute business to not understand you and see where youโre coming from just to make themselves feel better about the image they painted about you themselves. Itโs not you

we are now in the land of reciprocal giggling. i do something to make my baby laugh, and then his laughing makes me laugh, and then my laughing makes him laugh more, and we just go and go and go. a wellspring of joy.

I love my baby more and more each day. But I still canโt fully grasp thatโs sheโs *my* baby. All mine. I get to be the one to hug her and hold her and kiss her and raise her. Itโs hard to describe how special the bond feels.

This provision they keep talking about, you'd think that every married woman is provided for. The said provision may just be food and shelter that they could've provided for themselves if they were single o. So this is why you people don't want to move into women's houses? Wow!

So, based on today's discussion, where Nigerian men insist that because they're providing, they aren't supposed to do chores. Does it mean that when the wives provide, they shouldn't do chores, too? As per "it's the least he can do"?

Labeling women in relationships with domestic violence/intimate partner violence as โmale centeredโ when they donโt leave or go back is so incredibly harmful. Not only does it flatten the complexity of being a victim of DV/IPV but it causes you, their community, to isolate them.

Privilege hates competition. The moment fairness enters the chat, the dominant class rebrands as โoppressedโ and wields victim hood. Classic power play.

This law is no longer valid in Saudi Arabia. Stop spreading misinformation. By the way, countries like Saudi are progressing and people from Nigeria are wanting to now apply outdated laws to regress the country. What a pity!
You must provide a marriage certificate before staying in a hotel with a woman in Saudi Arabia. We need this rule in Northern Nigeria. This is a positive development.
