Teachers learning in LETRS Unit 7 spent the day learning about Text Driven Comprehension and how to best plan instruction to support strong comprehension.

On February 18th ESU 5 area SLP’s met to discuss MTSS and eligibility criteria.  Kim Bowen and Jeri Johnson, from Nebraska Assistive Technology Partnership, worked with the area's EI teams to discuss AT needs for our youngest learners. The day wrapped up with a PRT 5 meeting.

This week, teachers, counselors, and administrators of schools around Nebraska joined ESU 5 and Nebraska MTSS Restorative Practices Trainers Dr. Matt McNiff, Hillary Veerhusen, and Mackenzie Reidel for 2 days of training.

Day 3 of the Fundamentals of Literacy Coaching Roadshow we looked at how to bring data into the coaching cycle.  We talked about and looked at all the data available at our districts.We finished the day with an overview and short practice of the ELA and IPG.

#ESU5 went to Fairbury Public Schools to host the Unit 2 LETRS Training.

5th grade teachers came to #esu5, to work on OpenSciEd curriculum improvements

#esu5 hosted the #NeMTSS along with NDE for a professional learning opportunity on Friday, December 12th. #esu4 and 5 area school psychologists, SLPs, and administrators used the NDE File Review Checklist to identify what needs to be included in a high-quality MDT.

#esu5 Area Educators are gearing up for the 8th Annual Middle School Robotics Competition. Students will prepare throughout 3rd Quarter at school. Competition Day will be March 11th at ESU 5.

We are Hiring a Spanish Teacher! ESU 5 is hiring a Spanish Teacher to join our Distance Learning World Language Program. Our team currently serves 600+ students in 24 schools across the state—and we’re growing! 📚 Make an impact beyond the classroom.

ESU 5 school CTE clusters got together to complete a program review, share information with each other and begin the state-required ReVISION ReFRESH process.  Career Trees and Skill Trees from Mark Perna are being created for our region through this work as well.  @MarkPerna

Senator Brandt and Senator Dorn, Kevin Wingard, NCSA Ambassador, and Dr Larianne Polk, CEO of the ESUCC, joined the ESU 5 Superintendents for a morning of meaningful conversations about the future of education.
