Ducks know something about prayer - bowing their heads, plunging into the mystery that feeds them and holds them buoyant. Receiving bread from the hands of strangers. Traveling in pairs.

why can’t the comets that graze the sky stay in our orbit. why don’t the birds want to stay with me during their winter. even the mountains and the rivers can’t quite stay put. but if I put cement in any of it, the foundation cracks.

several years ago I got canceled because I was at Disney with a bunch of high school friends for a Halloween event, saw a bunch of (unknown to me) Buddhist monks, and told them I liked their air bender costumes

i think what sucks is that if i moved back to cali today I'd also already miss the new people I've befriended here and the new experiences/opportunities I've had. there's already so many ways that I've become a new person

i don't miss the beach or the weather or the city as much as i miss the friends that were there with me. no amount of new friends can replace them.

*Looking at a man who was literally baptized into Jesus’s death side by side with Jesus*: yup that must mean that baptism is not needed.
@PastorDeberny Thief on the cross didn't need one. Baptism is basically just marketing (and yes, obedience, too).

whatever reason find it necessary to harden people's hearts where I believe God is intending to soften them. It's a foolish and self-defeating tactic.
