5. The freeport is a private limited company. * Our Board is 6 private sector & 6 public sector members and 1 independent chair. * Leicestershire County Council is our accountable body and holds any public money for the freeport. * The Government & our Board hold us to account.

4. The customs zone only offers customs benefits. * We will only develop land inside the tax sites. * We're not a Charter City or a state within a state. * There is no deregulation of laws or workers’ rights in this area. All of the UK’s laws apply to us and anyone living here.

3. We also offer a customs area. Businesses in the 45km area can apply to gain:.* Duty flexibility.* Duty suspension.* Duty exemption.* Simplified import procedures.All of which are available separately via HMRC already.

2. The uplift in tax the sites generate will be invested across the region – approx £1bn. * Only our public sector Board members can decide how that money is spent. * We will not privatise existing public services. * We have no Compulsory Purchase Order powers.
