Excited to share my latest project “Detective Hideout” Created as a solo project for Dekogon Studios. I was responsible for every aspect of the environment - from initial concept and blockout to prop modeling, texturing, and scene lighting 1/7🧵

After that, I baked all the maps in Marmoset and created textures in Substance Painter 7/7

In the end, I had both a raw scan and a Nanite version. I also made a simple low-poly version in Blender (just a simple cylinder) 6/7

The shape is very simple, so scanning it wasn’t a problem. I used Reality Scan @RealityCapture_ to put everything together 5/7

So, I painted the whole thing with water-based paint in a rough, dirty pattern - this helped remove the glossiness and add an extra layer of texture. I also painted the metal part since I didn’t plan to sculpt it separately 4/7

However, the original designs and textures on these boxes don’t give you much surface detail for photogrammetry 3/7

I really like how, on this type of packaging, the outer paper layer often leaves an imprint of the inner cardboard structure. I wasn’t sure I could sculpt that effect by hand, so to save time, I decided to scan one of these boxes 2/7
