Both Central Jackson County Fire Protection District questions running well ahead. New fire station in Grain Valley north of I-70. One question is bonds, one is levy increase. Question 1 – 1,663 yes, 368 no. Question 2 – 1,391 yes, 636 no.

Independence police say Independence Center has been closed for the rest of the evening. Police are responding to "a shooting at the Independence Center." They are asking the public to stay away.
