With thanks to @MathewJLyons for his lovely review of our new exhibition :-). “. It’s really superb!. Whoever curated it did an absolutely first-rate job. So much life, so much detail, so much emotional depth, in such a small space. I’m embarrassed I’ve not been before.”

#flashbackFriday! Recognise this place? . It's #Abridge, around 1905. It shows a Riggs Retreat on the right, with Goulds Cottages on the left. This was one of several ‘retreats’ where visitors who were coming to Epping Forest could enjoy tea and refreshments.

👔Who remembers Austin Reed? 👔. This lovely advert from the early 1960s offers shoppers some great gift ideas for the gents. Founded in 1900, Austin Reed was very much part of High Streets for over 100 years. It even had stores on three ocean liners! . #WalthamAbbey #Christmas
