Southend Emergency Department - A&E never stops but neither does the education - 24/7 MDT learning 🏥
Southend-on-Sea, East
Joined April 2019
Exactly this.
Ambulances not able to offload create ‘second victims’- patients still at home needing an ambulance to get the care they need. Why the queue? Because the ED has no place to put new pts. Why ? Because the dept is full of patients needing ward beds. Exit block dangerous @RCollEM.

This is the reality right now. Stay safe.
Yesterday we asked MPs to consider overcrowding in EDs before casting their vote on the #TierSystem tonight. THIS is the reality across the country 👇 Empty hospitals do not have long ambulance queues like this, waiting to offload patients.

The Emergency Department are still busy treating Covid patients. It is still contagious and still in the community. We are still seeing all emergency patients. However if you do not need to be out #stayathome unless it is an emergency.
Police have been dealing with a number of groups who have been having picnics and sunbathing on Southend beach today. Officers have been issuing stern words of advice to return home to groups who have travelled to Southend for a day at the beach.

Local business woman @larabutteriss of #bringnonnaback and #prontolanguages made some wonderful homemade pasta Ragu from her Nonna's traditional recipe. ED staff were able to enjoy lunch prepared with love. Thank you for thinking of us! Grazie Lara 💗

Well done @METPapaCharlie 👍🏻💗 Anyone can do CPR, it improves the chance of survival in out of hospital arrests. Never forget you may have saved someone's life.
First time performing CPR today. Happy to say we got him back. Hearing LAS say he had a pulse again brought a tear to my eye. CPR is both physically and emotionally draining. Massive thanks to @Ldn_Ambulance for their amazing work day in and day out.
