Thank you to Sarah Tachon, Brande Crandall, the Creekside Place staff, and the panel presenters for a moving tribute to Dr. King today in Evansville. The turn out from the community, despite the cold, was encouraging to witness and be a part of!

Almost nothing is exciting as Picture Day within a school! It is terrific to see all of our Blue Devil students here on the state’s Third Friday Count day too. That will provide the district with the necessary funding to get these smiling faces the education that they deserve!

Thanks to the Evansville High School Cheer Team and to Lilly Takala for kicking off this morning’s opening staff in-service. The cheerleaders raised the energy level in the PAC, and Lilly wowed staff with her singing talents. It was a wonderful way to start the 25-26 school year!

The ECSD’s administrative team helped to prepare strawberries for today’s Strawberry Shortcake Festival. We hope to see you at this Evansville Education Foundation event starting at 3pm today at Emma‘s Table! Last year, the EEF donated over $10,000 back to our teachers in grants!

Andy Lehman and Sandi Spanton Nelson opened up the ECSD’s retirement celebration on Friday afternoon, re-creating how they used to teach dancing in PE class. Congratulations to Andy, Brian Benson, Jane Sperry, and Cindy Zblewski, with over 120 years of combined service!

My family had a wonderful time at last night’s performance of “Matilda!” Don’t miss the shows on Saturday and Sunday. Congratulations to the Zblewskis and Amanda Leahy in the pit on a wonderful show. Sixty years of Evansville musicals and counting!

At last night's school board meeting, we said “thank you” and “goodbye” to Dana Basch and John Rasmussen. Both Dana and John have been student-centered school board members. We will miss them both, but especially John making the final motion to adjourn meetings! #ECSDPride

In honor of Spread Goodness Day, the Evansville Community School District’s administrative team delivered donuts to Evansville Manor this morning. It felt good to put a smile on faces so early in the morning! #ECSDPride #spreadgoodnessday

During Kindness Week, it was an honor to be part of the Open Table Community Community Meal at Creekside last night. Thanks to Nancy Greve, Kathy Wells, and the local business who support this event! Over 150 went through the line. What a way to bring the community together!

I do not get into classrooms as often as I would like, but in the last few months, I have been able to get into many more. Walking into Ms. Elliott’s 6th grade Band class today, I was greeted by a teacher and students excited for me to be there and to play me “Donut Factory!“ 🎶

It was a lot of fun to see the Grinch kick off Olde Fashioned Christmas on Main Street tonight. There were so many family-friendly opportunities for Evansville’s kids on Friday, with more to come Saturday!

So fortunate to have my old Cross Country coach, Bill Williams, in attendance for this morning‘s Veterans Day ceremony. This veteran taught me a lot about what is important in life and how to treat people! Thank a veteran today!

Wonderful job by the Evansville High School cast, crew, and the Zblewskis with the Fall play, “This Murder Was Staged!” There were a lot of laughs and surprises. Now I can’t wait until the Spring musical “Matilda!” #ECSDPride

Having only worked for the Evansville Community School District since July 1st, I am fortunate to be part of a community that supported its schools through the approval of a 3-year operating referendum yesterday. It is good for kids! Proud to be a Blue Devil today! #ECSDPride

What a spirted day in Evansville! You could feel the Blue Devil pride from the students, staff, & the community. The pep rallies and parade all lead up to tonight's game (for a share of the Rock Valley championship) vs. Monroe and Saturday night's dance. GO BLUUUUUE DEVILS!
