#MondayMemories Who remembers Tracy Island?. Tracy Island from Thunderbirds was the must have toy in the early 1990s, back when we had to queue outside toy shops for new releases! Who remembers Blue Peter making their own version?

#OnThisDay in 1785 Joseph Bramah invented the beer pump handle, cheers! 🍻. In the museum we have a couple of objects by Barnsley's most prolific inventor; a fire pump and one of his unpickable locks.

Apparently today is #SuperheroDay. Lee donated his Raphael figure to the museum. Our collections range from the prehistoric period right up to the present day. 🕒 We are open Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturdays 10am-3:30pm

🐄Today is #NationalFarmAnimalsDay 🐑. These lead toy animals belonged to Elizabeth and were made by her Grandfather in Grimethorpe in the 1950s. They are now on display in our Stories of Childhood exhibition
