The UNESCO city of Shaki is known for its cobbled streets and mountain views but many residents still lack basic services. With an @EBRD loan and an E5P grant, new water systems will bring safe drinking water and sanitation to thousands. @EUinAzerbaijan @MinEconomyAZ

In Yerevan, over 50 kindergartens are being renovated through a partnership between the city, @EIB, and E5P donors – creating safer, brighter, more energy-efficient spaces for children and staff, while cutting thousands of tonnes of CO₂ each year. #Armenia #Sustainability

With support from an E5P grant and an @EBRD loan, Lutsk modernised its district heating in 2024. The upgrades improved reliability and cut 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ last year – equal to 12,000 homes – and are keeping 130,000 residents warm as Russia intensifies its attacks.

In April 2022, Mykolaiv’s taps ran dry after Russian attacks. Water trucks, wells, and trams kept the city going. A €33.8M E5P & @EBRD programme is rebuilding the system to provide safe, reliable water for hundreds of thousands.

Chernivtsi’s heating company has faced staff and spare part shortages since the war – yet its infrastructure remains intact. With support from E5P, EBRD & CIF, ageing pipelines, new heat substations, and a biomass boiler bring reliable, efficient heat to 270,000+ people.

130,000 people in Lutsk now have more reliable, energy-efficient heat. With support from E5P and the @EBRD, Lutskteplo completed a major modernisation project in 2024, keeping homes, schools and hospitals warm even as Russian attacks damage Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

In 2022, Ivankiv’s main school was hit by Russian artillery and left unusable. Now, thanks to a €5M E5P grant, it will be rebuilt as a safe, modern NZEB for 1,000+ pupils – a symbol of hope for this war-torn community. #UkraineRecovery #E5P 🇺🇦

In 2022, a Russian airstrike hit one of Zhytomyr’s district heating plants. It was repaired – but attacks on energy infrastructure are intensifying. With help from E5P donors, the city is installing generators and building greener, more reliable heating for 250,000+ people.

Ternopil is building a biomass-fuelled CHP plant thanks to an €8m E5P grant, part of a €21m package with @EBRD and @CIF_Action CTF. Last week, @EUDelegationUA hosted media here to highlight EU-backed recovery projects like this one, showing the impact of long-term support.
