Fast tempo music (130bpm) led to the most pleasure compared to no music, and the fast music was most effective at distracting from bodily sensations (e.g. aching muscles). Lots of people listen to music during exercise and the right tracks can improve the session! @SAVIBrunel

We isolated the effects of tempo and this approach led us to use non-lyrical, unfamiliar music. The results indicate that when listening to this music, we prefer it to be faster (~10bpm) than lyrical, more familiar music.
