Here's our timelapse of the supercell and shelf cloud moving into Dallas in Gaston County on Wednesday. There were two separate EF-1 tornadoes embedded inside the downburst. What you see in this video is the shelf clouds and leading edge of the downburst with 70-80 mph winds.

Fin/ Obviously there are MANY more issues to explore on this topic. But hopefully this article from ProPublica gets more discussion going.

8/ Remember that in the US, your insurance company has ZERO interest in your health. As Dr. Peter Attia astutely noted on a recent Rich Roll podcast episode - we switch insurers frequently, which gives them little incentive to truly care about YOUR long term well-being.

7/ Take interest in your own health early on. Regular exercise, avoidance of highly processed, sugary foods, encouraging those around you who might not have the same access to this info (for whatever reason) to do the same, and getting routine medical care (knowledge is power!)

6/ This problem is so multifaceted and the system so behemoth that I don’t see it being fixed any time soon. So what can an individual do about it?

5/ It’s a travesty that in this age of exceptional medicine, the # 1 cause of personal bankruptcy in the US is healthcare debt. I firmly believe that our insurance system has artificially raised the cost of care to the point of a regular doctor’s visit being unaffordable.

4/ I recognize that I am fortunate in many regards: - I don’t have a health condition requiring regular/expensive treatment - I am in a financial position to be able to pay out-of-pocket for routine maintenance and preventative healthcare

3/ I suppose my reasoning is 3-fold - if I am not creating a claim, it’s taking away that little bit of “business” from the insurer to process - 100% of my $ goes to my healthcare provider - Spending my own $ gives me greater vested interest in my health / ROI

2/ I still have traditional healthcare coverage, with a high deductible plan that I intend only to use for a catastrophic diagnosis requiring lengthy / expensive treatments.

1/ Maybe a misguided attempt by my passive-aggressive self to try to avoid contributing to our healthcare insurance company problem in the USA, but I’ve started paying for routine maintenance visits / labs / tests and other preventative treatments such as PT as “self-pay”
Doctors at a major US insurance company deny tens of thousands of claims a month without even looking at patients’ files. “We literally click & submit,” a former Cigna doctor told @ProPublica & @Capitol_Forum. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.” The inside story 🧵

Last I checked, pilots fly their aircraft with their hands and feet, not their genitalia. Even if this is woefully out out of context, count me appalled at this comment.
The FAA doesn’t need a woke administrator. It gives no comfort to the flying public that their pilot might be a transgender witch who doesn't actually know how to prevent a plane from crashing.

Generally ☀️ skies and lots of small scattered pop up 🌧 this weekend made for really pretty skies. And too many 🌈 to count. This one was the best though. #caravanviews
