Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University. Immunometabolism 🔍 Seeking to inspire curiosity, promote excellence, & strengthen future scientists.
Joined April 2021
Adipose is one of the most fascinating tissues! As an immunologist, I study adipose tissue expansion, obesity, and its associated metabolic changes through an inflammatory lens. I love networking and connecting with scientists studying adipose from a wide variety of approaches!

I had a phenomenal time presenting my Scientific Flash talk at #ABRCMS2024! The audience was very engaged, and it was invigorating to discuss the topic of inflammation in different contexts.

I'm ecstatic to be here at #ABRCMS2023 with my fellow #NIHMOSAIC Scholars! This is such a phenomenal conference to attend for all participants, but I'm especially beaming with pride and glee as a Black woman! 😁

I'm thrilled to share this review my advisor @clumeng and I co-wrote on #Macrophage and #Tcell interactions in the unique microenvironment of #adipose tissue and how their functions change with #obesity.

My good friend @FortuneSonya gave a *phenomenal* talk at @UMichMedSchool's Dean's Lecture 2023! 🎉👏🏿 The theme was "Inflammation: Friend or Foe?". I presented a poster on my work describing how inflammation is a "foe" in adipose tissue in the context of obesity.

However, I was able 2 implement weekly "minute papers" using Google Forms. I ❤️ed this opportunity 2 receive consistent feedback from my students. This was especially important 2 me because class was taught virtually. I'm looking forward 2 continuing to reflect on this experience

I'm < 1 week away from completing my 1st teaching experience as an adjunct professor! In the beginning, I was overly ambitious abt incorporating EVERYTHING I learned from my many professional development trainings on DEI in STEM. As u can probably imagine, this was impossible.
