My view here was based on AFL where a technical standard was implemented for GPS monitoring. This is proof of concept that standardized PMs in pro cycling could work too which is perhaps the major logistical barrier to adding PO data as part of a broader antidoping strategy.

There is so much info on health, wellness, performance, exercise, diet etc it can be overwhelming. So I started making up bad haikus to simplify the scientific literature on healthy living... Eat the food that grows Avoid food from factories Do some exercise

Great work @Spragg_Perform and co! OK so next Q... what if total work >CP is accumulated differently? eg: W'bal > some threshold (~60-80%) vs W'bal is <30-40%. Same P>CP could be employed but different W:R profiles and hence W'bal kinetics
The intensity rather than the quantity of prior work determines the subsequent downward shift in the power duration relationship in professional cyclists by @Spragg_Perform

Excellent comprehensive training study and huge amount of work here by Calaine Inglis @MuriasLab @DanielKeir1
Amazing work by Dr. Calaine! 7 weeks of moderate intensity endurance training did not increase VO2max or thresholds compared to control. Heavy, severe, and extreme domain training all worked though😉. Is it time to rethink guidelines? @DanielKeir1.

Gas exchange thresholds (GET/RCP) from mixing chamber versus BxB VO2? Anyone know a good study on this or have direct experience comparing the two? Many BxB systems suffer from systematic underestimation at high Bf but trade off is whether mixing chamber GETs are valid.

2 athletes have the same 5MMP (a so called "measure" of MAP) + VO2max. Yet one achieves this with low CP / high W' and the other with high CP / low W'. Clearly one has superior MMSS but do they have the same MAP?

We found similar results in our 2017 study. CP seems to decline slightly less than VO2max. Potentially this reflects a small increase in central O2 delivery "headroom" due to lower absolute intensity at altitude. https://t.co/5WlnhvKBNg

"High-responders performed greater training loads" Therefore, this is not a true dose-response analysis. It offers insight into why some athletes may adhere better to "optimized" training, but not about between subjects variability in the actual dose-response relationship
Responses to training: "Possibly, the higher motivation and stronger coach-athlete relationships in high-responders contributed to more individually optimized training and recovery routines, and thereby more positive performance-development." https://t.co/j4q2Yio7TH

"You can't outrun a bad diet" is the worst health cliché going around at present. But why would you want to outrun a bad diet anyway? Just adopt a healthy diet and COMBINE it with exercise.

As an exercise physiologist interested in EE & EIM I note there is huge disagreement about the role of diet in obesity & T2DM eg the plant vs meat debate is all the rage but... This simple model seems to bridge the divide between CIM & EBM... https://t.co/2yy0HGymsf

Good study, but yet another that misses the key point... Tests of CP should be designed to estimate MMSS. If you don't measure max VO2 steady state it doesn't have construct validity, and if you use 20min TTs you increase risk of underestimating MMSS. https://t.co/33JQMoRkNq
