I personally worked for six months without pay, yet I never insulted my sector minister or employer because I understood the cause of the problem and only hoped it would eventually be resolved and become thing of the past. I was paid for four months and had to wait over a year

I just find it ludicrous that someone who hasn’t been paid for 10 months to a year is supposed to somehow still be very measured in their comments, and exercise patience, and be very polite and cordial. Tells you what you need to know about Ghana.

Medicine in Ghana is not unpaid missionary work. Doctors are not volunteers , we are workers in a regulated profession.We pay taxes, renew licenses, follow labour laws, and are legally accountable just like any other professional.

If you can see this, please help save this lovely lady’s life. Ubeida has Leukemia and is due for a bone marrow transplant in India. Her doctors at Korle Bu say she responding very well to treatment so far and this transplant is an important step towards a full recovery.
