Manitoba Liberal Party Event

This evening Naomi and I were at the Hong Kong Canada Business Association’s 2024 Chinese New Year Gala Dinner. Happy Chinese New Year - Kung Hei Fat Choi - to all.

It is easy to see why Vicksburg, on the Mississippi River, was such a critical location during the civil war in the United States when you visit the city in person as Naomi and I did today. The city has natural high ridges around it which give those defending it an big advantage

In Manheim, Pennsylvania today. They have turned what was essentially a straight drainage ditch into a meandering stream with enhanced riparian habitat to provide a wildlife corridor and better flood protection. The stream is the Rife Run in the Susquehanna watershed.

Visiting with Daniel Ness (on the right) who taught us much about the central role that Columbia, Pennsylvania played in the “Underground Railway” and about the individuals who contributed so much.

I am surprised to find that the University of Michigan bookstore does not have a copy of “What the eyes don’t see” by their own faculty member Dr Mona Hanna-Attisha, a book which tells the story of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

The NDP need to get their act together. We need action not just words.
