BBC Benzamine Book Centre - bookstore I used to go when in school for textbooks and books for revision. It is similar to my name Benjamin - the local Malays pronounce it as Ben-Jar-Min with Jar as the stress instead of the anglocised Ben-Germ-Min with Ben as the stress.

Posing in front of the beautiful tropical landscape. Just 30 min drive from my hometown Kuching in Borneo. To see that one must climb Mount Singai to the Catholic Memorial and Pilgrimage Centre.

Eaten too much after a week in my hometown. Getting back to my 10K steps a day. Once a reservoir, a park, then abandoned and now redeveloped & renamed as Unity Park in Malay. Due to the heat, people come here early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Good for park run.

1st Sept - 15 years working at the University of Leeds. And in a few days' time, it would be 22 years since I first arrived the same University for my tertiary education - there was a two-year break when I was an engineer at a hydro power station in the middle of Borneo island!

The view of Borneo just outside my hometown just 30 minutes drive from the city centre. This view was taken on the way up to Mount Singai Catholic pilgrimage centre. Excellent place to relax and chill out.

Few shots of my hometown Kuching in Borneo, mainly around the central part along Sarawak River which attracts tourists the most but there are not many tourists comparing to other Asian cities!

For example my father would bring the exhausted car battery to a shop nearby and exchange it with a new one or just get new one and he'd get a new one for a price which may have been reduced because he knew or worked with so and so people... 😂

Padungan Road in Kuching, a popular place for tourists and local residents. For me it is for breakfast (popular to eat out) and snacks & DIY shopping. Note there is no IKEA or B&q shop. If we need DIY things we'd go to one of the shophouses. We may know them too! That's Borneo!

Walking along #kuchingwaterfront while there was floral festival nearby. They were all at the heart of #Kuching the capital of #Sarawak, a #Borneo state of Malaysia. The large building with the traditional architecture is the State Assembly.

Love this fruit. My childhood favourite (in Borneo where I am now). It is seasonably available. These were from the tree my father grows and maintains. He picked the fruit last week and froze them for me to enjoy. And am having these as desserts. What is it? Durian! Google it!

I got to show you this. A novel way by my MSc student in connecting the practical prototype of an advanced electronics for EV onboard charger. It works! Really pleased with his excellent work, never mind the look! #engineeringatleeds #universityofleeds

On Saturday I completed four more Wainwright Fells; Seathwaite Fell 632 m, Great Gable 899 m, Green Gable 801 m and Base Brown 646 m. This view was at Windy Gap which was a lower point after descending from Great Gable and before ascending Green Gable. #bvpcrambler

Just realised there is an audio trail for the public art around University. This could be suitable for those who would like to have a short well-being walk. Maybe I can organise one for my students!

PGR conference for Electronic and Electrical Engineering of #universityofleeds. I think we haven't focused much on PhD students in terms of wider community building so this event was really useful. It was good to learn about their excellent work! #engineeringatleeds
