Best way to improve critical thinking skills = read & write. As more people off-load reading & writing, fewer people will be good at critical thinking. As fewer people do it well, the more valuable it will be. Want skills in demand & influential in 20 yrs? Or 5? Read. Write.

Being reminded of the gross perversity of our leaders is demoralizing.

@FaithAdvisory I’m not usually one to mince words. I don’t think any church should give one red cent to @FaithAdvisory. And I think members should consider leaving any church that does.

In an abusive system there is no safe place, no binding of wounds or healing for a broken heart. Power is used in God’s name to protect the system rather than the victim. Power is used to oppress and protect the manmade structure rather than the people they are called to lead.

This. That *none* of the co-authors have addressed it has been puzzling. Maybe my tiny corner of X isn't enough to get their attention? Maybe they are hoping Tim will saying something first? Maybe they are afraid of him? Maybe this just isn't as important as I make it out to be?
@DrAaronNew Very helpful. I partly ask because I'd be furious if my name was attached to clear plagiarism (and embarrassed). I'd want to make it right, so it surprises me there's been radio silence. I'm sorry to hear that.

I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Clarification 2: As a college professor who graded a million papers, I developed an eye for words that didn't belong to an author. And armed with google and a few other tools, I developed the skill of documenting it when students were tempted to plagiarize.

This needs to be seen. @DianeLangberg I don’t believe you knowingly plagiarized — it’s more likely Clinton’s part. Please help share this!
Some of you know this drum I’ve been beating for several years: The serial plagiarism I see in the work of Tim Clinton does harm to the counseling profession & undermines our Christian witness. It remains important, but I’m going to try to put some of it to rest nonetheless. 🧵

Mediocrity in Christian higher eduction is a recipe for more closed schools. This year is the PEAK of the college-age demographic, and every year forward is a decline. And, a WAVE of Christian college closings is about to come. Let's pray for Christian colleges to make the

Wow. I felt this in my bones. Good, hard words (again) from @KSPrior.
There are so many gods to appease. It's hard to know when you’re in the midst of it and facing these gods whether your presence diminishes their power—or nourishes it.

Stealing the words of others. Portraying them as your own. Refusing to own bad decisions. Refusing to apologize. Refusing to change or make amends. These are not the signs of honesty and trustworthiness. Plagiarism from prominent leaders is too damaging to dismiss. /END.

Final Words: I’m not out to get Tim. I just think the profession deserves better from a prominent leader. As Christians, our entire witness depends on relationships of trust. As counselors, our entire work depends on relationships of trust.

Clarification 3: None of this even begins to address the numerous instances on various social media accounts that have (or had) Clinton’s name attached to quotes that clearly and obviously belong to someone else.

But it is decidedly NOT an exhaustive review. Maybe someone should do that. I’m confident that a thorough examination of all his works would find many more examples of material borrowed from other sources without attribution.

And since my passion was Christian counseling, I read/used a LOT of AACC-related material. So the examples I’ve shared are just the result of what happened when I turned my eye/attention from student papers to Clinton’s writings.
