It’s more important than ever for young people to be engaged in politics. Now, there’s finally a platform where voters can hear about the important issues of the day directly from Senators and Representatives in the Capitol. #AStartingPoint

I wasn't familiar with the #Delaware sites, so I checked them out. Turns out the 2 stories on SoDel homepage were written by freelancers who, acc. to LinkedIn, are in Montana and North Carolina. That's not local to #netde - but I am. Subscribe to @delawareonline.
Hundreds of hyperpartisan sites are masquerading as local news. Here's a map. https://t.co/xk7PZnKawm via @NiemanLab

You can expect the Republican challengers to rely on blasting Carney's reopening strategy. Pro-business rhetoric is nothing new. But the likely GOP front-runner who challenged Carney in the 2016 is also targeting the Black vote after #BLM protests #netde

The 2020 governor's race could be a repeat of 2016 if Dover Sen. Colin Bonini, who ran against the Democratic incumbent in 2016, wins the primary.

There is a large group of people in the Netherlands who also benefit from the well-designed cycling infrastructure: people with disabilities. The cycle tracks offer them protection from motorized traffic, and thus a freedom to move around independently. https://t.co/bMDqxMfmTW

Trump, yesterday: “When you test, you create cases.” Nothing could better exemplify Trump’s view that ALL “facts” are fake. Remember his “What you see and what you read isn’t what’s happening”? We’re now witnessing the wages of his lunacy. Those wages are death. HE MUST GO.

Now Trump says “You all know that Biden and Obama stopped testing. They just stopped it.” BIDEN and OBAMA?!?! Where are the guys with butterfly nets? Where are the straitjackets and padded cells? What about the 25th Amendment, at long last? But #MoscowMitch and his Senate!

"In my country, we have more bikes than residents. With the coronavirus crisis, more and more people across Europe are seeing the benefits of cycling: is cheap, healthy and good for the climate and clean air”, said @SvVeldhoven, Dutch State Secretary at the #BeneluxBikeWebinar

It’s infuriating that @rcfp’s tips for reporters (to help them protect themselves in the field) would be cited by a prosecutor’s office to try to justify the arrest of @newsguz while covering a protest. @rcfp is here for reporters, not police who arrest them for doing their job.
"Reporters Committee resources are intended to help journalists stay safe while covering protests, and it’s improper for the prosecutor’s office to use them to conclude officers acted reasonably under the law when arresting Gustavo Martínez.” said Bruce Brown, ED at @rcfp.

Trump on Thursday: “You have a governor in Maine that won’t let people even look at each other. I’ve never seen anything like what’s going on with these - it’s really the blue governors. And they haven’t done very well.”
As Mainers take to the polls today, the number of active coronavirus cases statewide dropped to 390, the lowest it has been since April 29 (when testing capacity was also much lower)

Dr. Fauci, chief advisor to the president on Covid-19, says he hasn’t briefed the president in two months and isn’t being allowed on TV because of his warnings about the pandemic are so dire. Just think about that.

Whenever I mention the rise in cases I pair it with the sharp acceleration in hospital and ICU admissions and now a lagging sharp rise in deaths, as well as positivity rates. All those indicators should confirm this is not a simple rise in testing. Not sure why this is so hard
Trump: As an example, we’ve done 45 million tests. If we did half that number, you’d have half the cases, probably around that number. If we did another half of that, you’d have half the numbers. Everyone would be saying we’re doing well on cases
