@derekdprice Yep. The 17 year old who throws 93 off the backstop has a better chance of developing into a strike thrower vs. the pitcher who throws 75 mph and is trying to get to 90+. Arm action, body type, age also play into it.

The G5 thing is stupid because this isn't basketball where a team can get hot. These major upsets will never happen in football. Size, athleticism, depth. A G5 team will never match that with these schools.

Recruiting Rule #1: Under-promise, over-deliver on velo. Every coach knows when a kid says 'I throw 90,' it usually means topped 90 once on a perfect day. 'Throwing 90' = you'd hit it multiple times if they showed up. Say 85-87... then touch 90? Coach is walking away

Assistant Coaches spend more time with players than Head Coaches. If your players don't say they are closer with the Assistant Coach than the HC you have a problem... Likewise HCs, those of you jealous of your Assistants are in the wrong Business!!
