Dad came home tonight to see me. It was a very long day for him. He attended his mother‘s funeral in Minnesota midday, and then drove back six hours to be with me. He brought back a white rose from the ceremony. I’m so happy and will give him an extra snuggle tonight.

Dad and I have been absent for a few days. A lot happening. Yesterday, dad turned 65 and is even harder for me to drag through the forest preserve. This morning at 3:30AM, his mom went home to heaven. She was the gentlest, kindest person ever. 95 wonderful years.

I’m taking a short break from chasing squirrels. This morning I’m tracking deer.

“C’mon dad…you played baseball. Throw a snowball and knock that squizzer down for me.”

I’m waiting for the Vikings to make an announcement over the stadium PA asking if anyone has any quarterback experience to please come forward. #Skol

The smells are still there, you just have to look deeper.

Well, 8.5 inches covering my once green yard with a couple more inches coming tomorrow. Have to wear my purple sweatshirt now.

Dad says one of these years we are moving! Brrrr….

Recharging my batteries during the football game.

Enjoying my last day of grass. Dad says , horrible winter starts tomorrow. Lots of snow predicted.

Dad and I got up early and made apple bread with pecan streusel topping. Made 2 loaves and delivered one to my 86 year old neighbor. Goes great with coffee.

So dad made fettuccine Alfredo tonight, and I got a noodle and licked a bowl. OMG, it was so much better than my dog food. Now dad says we have to do a long walk because of the butter and heavy cream. He said it goes right to my hips. I’m not sure I have hips?

This is how I watch football.

Dad got the entire leaf train raked and bagged. He said he is done for today!

Dad created a leaf train…

Good thing that dad raked up leaves the past 3 days, and the city vacuumed up for the last time. Overnight, our trees decided to dump leaves. Oh well, bagging time.

Dad wants one of these vacuums to use in the yard. Goodbye to our leaves…but a lot more to fall yet.

So this happens every morning. I go upstairs when mom and sister wake up, and they get me all worked up. Then I storm downstairs and dad holds the door open and I do my zooming.
