This guy's basically American. That's four American leaders in the base game. Sid Meier's America is real.

". lack of polish. "
I'm venting so it isn't in my recorded video, but the lack of polish on Civ VII is insane. Like it's not unfinished. The game plays fantastically. But the menus, and the loading screens. they're so placeholder. And Gwendoline Christie needs to talk more. Missin' Sean Bean rn.

The first time you complete a railway station in Civ VII, the game forces you to buy Sid Meier's Railroads! and you have to chalk up 30 hours before you can resume. They were gonna do the same with Treasure Fleets and Sid Meier's Pirates! but there were creative differences.
First Civ 7 DLC pitch - When you finish a science victory and press "beyond earth" the game automatically buys, installs and runs Beyond Earth and forces you to finish a game before it gives you back control. Thinking it could be a winner.

Considering this is how my current Civ VI game looks, I don't think anyone should trust my opinion on game design
@DocksEcky That's where the Mods come in.

You have been visited by the Jolly Prospector of America. Good fortune and resources will come to you, as long as you reply "USA USA" in the comment. #civ7

Considering how much nicer this looks and how bad the UI's been since the first gameplay release, my prediction is they've got a big UI patch in the works. They probably decided to dedicate resources to making the game work for launch, knowing they can fix UI stuff up later.
@PotatoMcWhiskey I found it on the CivFanatics forum, but it's in the files. You can see for yourself by searching "*.png" in the game directory. There were also some snippets left by mistake in some old previews:

Agreed if you've played a lot of Civ and want something new. If you haven't, Civ VI + all expansions is the way to go (this also goes on sale). You'll just have to fight the fomo of everyone playing the shiny new one.
Civ 7 isn't perfect, but its the most fun civ game on the market imo. Might be boosted by it's freshness but I can't stop thinking about it.
