It is an incredible honor to join a robust group of colleagues, trainees, and advocates to advance caregiving science and help provide necessary support to caregivers nationally and worldwide!.

One of our primary goals is to help healthcare systems nationally develop sustainable support programs for caregivers, and I am thrilled to partner with the leader in this space – @CAPCpalliative – to achieve our goals.

The Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving will encompass research, clinical care, training, and advocacy efforts aimed at addressing the needs of caregivers of patients with all chronic and life-limiting illnesses.

I feel so proud and honored to announce that I have stepped into a new role as Professor in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and as Director of the Steven S. Elbaum Family Center for Caregiving at ⁦@IcahnMountSinai⁩!

This Monday May 19th! I’ll be putting on my 🩰 and joining the cast of Dance Against Cancer on stage at New York’s City Center to help raise funds for the @AmericanCancer!

I had such a fantastic conversation with @AlzAuthors about taking care of my Dad, helping to preserve his dignity and sense of personhood, and steps we can take to better integrate caregivers into the healthcare team!

This week of travel ended in Mexico City, where I had the honor of joining rising star in palliative care and geriatrics @andreapda and where I spoke about the role of support for older adult women who are caregivers. The enthusiasm for supporting caregivers is exciting to see!
