On top of all this, HSBC make it incredibly difficult to actually deposit a foreign cheque anywhere not having counter service in most branches. Nearest is Angel, which is closed, and then maybe Chancery Lane is my best bet?! 😡.

Why can't California FTB make an electronic payment if the amount they worked out is slightly different to the amount I did?. If they know the right amount WHY DO I EVEN HAVE TO FILE A RETURN?. And WHAT EVEN IS "endorsing a check"?.
