on this note one of my crackpot-yet-totally-correct positions is that any and all discussions around public kinkwear- pup hoods, walking around on leashes etc- needs to accept that the marriage ring, bridal gown etc are forms of kinkwear that have simply been normalized
in the same way that the violence of the state is basically not seen as violence at all the sexuality of the normative heterosexual couple is basically not seen as sexual at all. they are married in the nuclear family, which is seen as neither sexual nor violent. why is that
