I attended an Atlanta municipal candidate forum then a @MARTAtransit meeting immediately after. Nate Jester participated in the forum then attended the MARTA meeting as well. This is what I want in my next Atlanta City Councilmember for District 11, someone who always shows up.

One of our moderators was Amaya (Hopefully I spelled your name right) who is a High School student at KIPP. We were asked how we would include the youth of Atlanta in our decision making as the next Atlanta City Councilmember of District 11.

We were asked, what committees would we like to be assigned leadership of by the Atlanta City Council President and where does transportation rank on our list? My choices: 1. Community Development/Human Resources 2. Public Safety 3. Transportation.

We were asked how we would work to decrease the racial inequities in ATL if elected. District 11 is 96% Black. By doing right by District 11 & providing constituents with proper services & meeting their needs, we will make significant strides in lowering that racial discrepancy.

I had the opportunity to speak on the Propel ATL District 11 Atlanta City Council Candidate Forum with a focus on transportation and mobility. The first question was how do we make sure constituents are safe when they walk, jog, run, bike around Southwest Atlanta.
