I've put so much more time & emphasis into tracking high school BaGS & DIGS scores this year, and it's exciting to see the interest increasing in that area. Naturally, there are questions about the process (as there should be!). So, let's take a closer look. 🧵

MLB BaGS+ Monthly Splits. #LetsGoDodgers #RepTheHalo . Those bright blue (replacement level) scores are almost nonexistent for LAD. Angels young hitters are looking promising.

Last night I ran monthly BaGS+ splits for MLB hitters. Unlike the other levels I track (MiLB, collegiate, high school), these scores are calculated entirely from underlying metrics (zone-contact, chase, & barrel rates). I'll share various teams here for those interested.

Braxton led CA with 14 homers in his senior year for Central Catholic. Started 17 games for @CalPolyBSB as a freshman this season.
Braxton Thomas (@CalPolyBSB) went 2-for-4 with a home run (1) and 4 RBI in the @kelownafalcons 6-4 win over Bellingham last night. Thomas is hitting .409 with a 1.136 OPS through 6 games this summer.

More #MLBDraft talk. Comparing projected 1st round arms in MLB Pipeline's most recent mock (basically the same group I shared last night) with 1st round picks going back to 2019 (no 2020). This year's group has an average DIGS+ of 151. 2019-24 draft picks average 155.
