Im baffled that people think this is an issue altogether separate from Islamophobia. The default Bengali in Kolkata is Hindu. They want to erase Islam from Bengal and the vast majority of Bengali Hindus end up as collateral damage.

Punjabis and Bengalis gave much more than their share in the independence movement, only to be later partitioned and marginalized in this country.
