I'm ranting at this point, but yeah, Percy not being his type had nothing to do with looks. We don't even know Nico's preferences when it comes to physical things. His attraction seems to be based on feelings. I get the joke, but damn, some of y'all are SERIOUS.

He likes Will because he knows Will. He understands Will. He's loved in return BY WILL. Him telling Percy he isn't his type and turning to walk to Will is symbolic. He was able to cultivate a healthy relationship with Will through mutual acceptance and patience.

Beyond that, Nico didn't have feelings for Will yet at that point, sure he was starting to get butterflies, but that's not something he was even thinking on. His feelings developed for Will because THEY SPENT TIME TOGETHER. They were on an even playing field.

Nico no longer hero worships Percy. He's grown. He's matured. He's not a little kid that saw Percy as this infallible God-like person anymore. He saw Percy for Percy, his flaws and all, and realized that Percy wasn't his type. He hadn't liked the real Percy, just the idea.

#PJO. If I see one more post about the fact Walker looks like Will and that means Nico saying he's not his type doesn't make sense I will crash out. Y'ALL. Not his type doesn't doesn't have to mean physically. I interpreted it to mean personality-wise. 🧵👇.
