Tracking bouts of heavy rain moving through the Greater New Orleans area right now. Storms moving north at about 30 mph with some lightning and rain rates of at least 1"/hr or more. @wdsu

BIG storm in Slidell right now! Lots of lightning, VERY heavy rain rates 2"-3"/hr at least, and more storm activity is behind this beast. Dark clouds in New Orleans also show a developing storm could bring some heavy rain too. Full update @wdsu news at 4.

A Flood Advisory for much of Orleans Parish is in effect until 4:45 pm. A storms with rain rates up to 3"-4"/hr is currently moving through the advised area. We're all under a Flood Watch through late Friday night. @wdsu

Severe T-Storm warning for parts of Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes until midnight for winds up to 60 mph. Heavy rain rates can be up to as high as 3"-4"/hr I've already seen tonight, too! @wdsu

Strongest storms moving south-southwest at about 20 mph with rain rates of at least 2"-4"/hr possibly as high as 5"-6"/hr in some locations. TONS of lightning with these storms and could bring winds over 40 mph too. Will be on watch for more heavy rain the next two days. @wdsu
