Lecturer/Asst. Prof. UCD 🇮🇪 |🥰 Carbon 🥰 Water 🥰 Hydro-Biogeochemical Modeling 🥰 | She/They
Joined August 2020
Second chapter of my thesis is out! 🌍🌊 It highlights the vital role of hydrology in driving DOC and DIC production/export to streams. Deeper respiration processes are increasingly important in a warmer, drier US mountain west. #CriticalZone #Carbon Link: https://t.co/dTxj82wbDw

🌡️📉 In a warmer, drier future, this suggests lower carbon production and export, with a higher proportion from deeper flow and respiration processes. Our findings highlight the growing importance of deeper biogeochemical processes in a changing climate.

🏔️❄️During snowmelt and wet years, DOC & DIC production and export peak, driven more by hydrology than temperature. Shallow soils are the primary source, but deeper processes are essential to include to describe carbon dynamics. #Snowmelt #CarbonDynamics
