Thanks, @voxxed_thess, for taking this photo. My books are already outdated, but they look good here. And I look like a local rapper from Manila. 😆 😎

The ternary operator approach is preferable due to its improved readability, clarity, performance, and maintainability. Most of the time, Claude Sonnet 4.0 is better, and sometimes GPT-5. 😆.

I asked Claude Sonnet 4.0 and GPT-5 on each VS Code instance to remove all my useCallback and useMemo hooks due to the React Compiler plugin. GPT-5 won this time for me because it used the ternary operator rather than IIFE, which Claude used.

Pro tip: If your customer's low-end machine that you are using is struggling to run Eslint because the project you inherited has a bunch of linter rules, it's time to migrate to @boshen_c Oxlint. No need for a benchmark. You will see and feel the difference. You're welcome.

I tried out the TypeScript Native preview on @code and @WebStormIDE. The auto-import functionality is struggling in VS Code, while it works perfectly in my WebStorm. The rest are working on VS Code, except for the auto-import.

TanStack Query is no longer a new and shiny thing, but I have met many React developers in the beginning phase of using it or migrating from Redux to TanStack Query + Zustand. Here is a short video of what it can do for your apps at @appjsconf.
