Robotaxi in Austin is now driving on freeways!.There’s now a safety monitor in the drivers seat though, which is an interesting change.
Sept 1 in Austin and our Robotaxi arrived with Tesla safety driver in the driver seat, similar to the Bay area (no logo on the car). Here’s that first moment when I realized, our autonomous car was heading onto the freeway.

I think this is such an interesting look into the future of vehicle purchasing decisions.
Early access to FSD Supervised is the main reason I decided to upgrade our car. My initial plan was to keep our 2022 Model Y and use my credits to buy FSD. But instead, we used the credits on a new (inventory) Model Y and paid the remaining out of pocket. I currently have FSD on.
