Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” will cut $3.8 billion from Florida’s health care system. This will make our state sicker, poorer, and less ready to move Florida forward.

"To put it simply: we want you to keep more of your hard-earned money and we want you to get what you pay for." — Senate Democratic Leader Lori Berman on property insurance reform

Today, my colleagues in the Senate Democratic Office announced our initiative to address rising property insurance costs in the state of Florida, an issue that is critical for so many families. With increasingly bigger and more destructive storms, families cannot afford high

I’m in Tallahassee at the Public Service Commission hearing, where FPL is asking for a $10 billion rate hike, the largest in U.S. history. Their CEO says they deserve it. What they deserve is accountability. As Attorney General, I’ll stand up for Floridians, not corporations.

Watching the CFO's press conference from yesterday & he says Seminole County has spent $5,402 per new resident over the last 5 years. That's less than half of what career politician Blaise Ingoglia voted to spend per new resident during his decade in the state legislature!
From 2015-2024, FL's pop. increased by 3,153,104. The state budgets the CFO voted for increased from $78.7bil in 2015 to $115.1bil in 2025, or $36.4bil, from 2015-2025. That's $11,544 per new resident. Jax budget spent $11,728 per new resident. FAFO?

“We have seen the governor propose redrawing the map. We’ve seen the house form a Select Committee on it, but none of that changes the fact that in 2010 the people of FL passed a constitutional amendment that makes it illegal to draw maps to benefit a political party,” said Keith
“we’ve seen this kind of nationwide effort where the president is asking states to redraw their maps in order to get additional Republican seats in the midterm elections, and that is precisely what’s illegal here in Florida,” said Keith.

As other states continue in the push to redraw congressional maps, Florida’s role in this fight has diminished in recent weeks, at least publicly. However, groups against the move are still o…

DOJ attorneys admitted that Alligator Alcatraz holds people who’ve never been in removal proceedings, directly contradicting state leadership. This shows just how reckless the state’s narrative around this facility has been. #Florida #AlligatorAlcatraz

State agents visit couple who sent critical postcard to CFO Blaise Ingoglia

They politically active couple expected a knock on their door because of their criticism of Trump and DeSantis, but not over a seemingly innocuous postcard.

GOP Rep. Jim Mooney on the property tax debate in Florida: "Honestly, this discussion really should be about insurance. I think that for most people I know, it's not the property tax, it's the insurance. 'My property taxes are X amount, my insurance are 3x my property taxes.'"

💣LAWSUIT BOMBSHELL: The FEMA funds given to the state of Florida are a smoking gun — more proof that the facts are on our side. “Alligator Alcatraz” should be SHUT DOWN to stop irreversible damage to the Everglades and comply with the law. 1/2

Floridians are paying 5 times the national average for property insurance, almost half of claims are closed without payment, & FL leads the nation in nonrenewals, so Ron DeSantis is taking a victory lap with his donors in the insurance industry whose profits have skyrocketed.

When private insurance corporations price-gouge hardworking families and seniors, we need real solutions to lower rates for all Floridians. Universal windstorm coverage lowers rates, spreads out risk, and provides policyholders the protection and peace of mind they’ve paid for.

I understand there’s a baseline level of disingenuousness that comes from these folks but if you’re going to try to gut local communities to make them grovel to Tallahassee politicians for funding every year, do better than this.

The intent was clear: Depict Broward County government as a hotbed of wasteful, abusive and excessive spending. Reality isn’t as clear-cut.

As a representative of a vibrant and diverse district with a significant Indian-American population, I’m disgusted by Palm Bay City Councilman Chandler Langevin's commentary. Florida needs leaders who will stand up for everyone, not divide us with prejudice and hate.

NEW: A grand jury has been convened related to the DeSantis administration and @AGJamesUthmeier’s criminal theft and money laundering of $10 MILLION in public Medicaid dollars. This is serious— taxpayer money was stolen and spent on political ads. There must be accountability.
