April meeting Wednesday (3rd), in The Manse Basement for it. Starting time is 7pm. Speaker this month is Mark Wallace. Mark is a Master Beekeeper and might already be known to many of you. He will talk about SWARMING and how this can be managed.

Thank you to all who called to our display yesterday in Brooke Park , we are pleased to have been a part of the Derry and Strabane City Council event . We met loads of potential bee-keepers , and even had a few special guests buzzn around our pitch !! , see photo below.

March Update : Our speaker was the inimitable Dr Jim Loughrey. He talked about a natural approach to Beekeeping with new information from the conference on natural beekeeping which was held in he Netherlands last year. It was an interesting , thought provoking and lively session.

Meeting :March 6th, 7pm ! held in THE CONFERENCE ROOM , Conservation Volunteers building, in BROOKE PARK itself. The entrance to Brooke Park leisure centre is off Rosemount Avenue, and there is a car park just to the back of the Conservation volunteers building.

We welcome Mark Wallace as our speaker on the 3rd April. A full time and Master Beekeeper, Mark will talk about swarming, swarm control and also touch on the interesting subject of queen introduction.

Training and development Guest Speakers March 2019 Dr Jim Loughrey is the guest speaker at our meeting on the 6th March. He is an accomplished and entertaining speaker. According to Jim, he has been a beekeeper for over 30 years, but he hopes that the bees have forgiven him!
