Think I'll probably turn around here... strong wind and not comfortable getting too exposed on the ridge. Made it most of the way up as far as the elevation anyway.

Heading up Loder peak this morning, pretty gusty today, will see how it is up on the ridge

Kinda got bored of doing Prairie Mountain for my mid-week hike and started doing this one, it's roughly half the time and effort, doable under an hour which works a bit better this time of year as you have to start racing against the sunset. Still challenging and great views.

Short hike just past elbow falls, haven't been here since the flood, hasn't changed at all really. I suspect it might be busier today but nobody here Friday evening, almost weird to get such a beautiful spot completely to ourselves, it's only maybe 20 minutes from the parking

Hoapili Trail, got to a hidden beach maybe 20 minutes south of the lighthouse. Easy to get to but the trail is exposed most of the way, it would probably be very hot if it also wasn't so windy :) but totally worth it imo, we got the beach all to ourselves

Daylight savings fall back seemed like a good day for a sunrise hike.

Door Jamb mountain and Loder peak trail. This was a fun scramble, short and sweet but I think I really lucked out with the conditions. I feel like any kinda rain or wind would have made parts of this really sketchy. It's pretty easy to get off the trail on this one too... and the

Road trip to Fairmont. Passed on the Fairmont hot springs and checked out Lussier springs instead, worth it. I imagine it probably gets busy but we got there pretty much at sunrise and there were only a handful of people. There were multiple little pools and right next to the

Oreo just celebrated his 9th birthday and I wasn't sure if he'd be up for this hike but he did better than the rest of us.

Horton hill hike, nice views of Barrier lake, even though it's just a hill it was a pretty steep hike and probably should have brought poles. Trail wasn't well maintained with many obstacles for Oreo, lots of fallen trees blocking the trail.

Opal ridge, had to walk around a lazy marmot that wouldn't move off the trail :) another beautiful hike within about an hour from Calgary. I've done this hike years ago in the winter, weirdly enough I think it was easier in the winter but the views are probably better now.

Lady MacDonald, didn't quite make the summit but that ridge was a bit scary to keep going... Maybe once my kids finish college

Rockbound lake and Castle mountain. Made it about 80% of the way but didn't feel like getting through all the snow, may try it again in a few months.
