Today in forest school we used natural materials such as leaves and sticks to make paintbrushes! It was a bit fiddly fixing them together but we persevered and didn’t give up! We are looking forward to mud painting with them next week 🤩

Dosbarth Un have been busy this Anti-Bullying week thinking how to be a good friend and making wreaths. Throughout the week they wrote good deeds onto hearts to add to our kindness tree -take a look at how full it is! We are lucky to have such thoughtful children in the class 🥰

Eco Club were thrilled to learn that a hedgehog was spotted in our forest school area! So this week they have been busy making sure that the hedgehog house is cosy and warm, and there is plenty of food and drink for the hedgehog before it goes into hibernation. Da iawn pawb 👏🏼

Dosbarth Un are passionate about saving Deri Library and have made posters this week which we will be putting up around the local area. “I love the library because it makes me happy!” “I love to go to the library with my family” “I like to read lots of new and exciting books” 📕

Today Dosbarth Un were capable, independent learners as they followed instructions to make harvest soup! They took such care to cut up the vegetables and once the soup was made took turns to serve each other at the table. They couldn’t wait to tuck in!

We have been making the most of the sunshine this week and doing some lovely work around autumn. The children have been working really hard on their independence in completing tasks and are such enthusiastic learners. Ardderchog 🤩

After a discussion about Harvest the children saw some foods that have been recently harvested and decided they would like to learn about Pumpkins. We read the book ‘The Gigantic Pumpkin’ and here are some of the lovely activities the children have been doing independently 🤩

I would like to introduce Deri Primary’s new Eco council. They have some fantastic ideas of things they would like to do this year to improve the school and ways to make the school ‘greener’ Our first task is to prepare an assembly for the school to share our vision 🤩

Today the children went to Deri Stores to buy the ingredients we need to make our apple crumble. We wrote our shopping list before we went and remembered to use our manners in the shop to say please and thank you.
